William X. Kienzle (1928-2001) was an American writer known for his crime fiction and mystery novels, particularly the Father Koesler series. A native of Detroit, Kienzle was ordained as a priest in 1954 and served in the priesthood for 20 years before leaving due to the Catholic Church's stance on divorcees remarrying. After departing from the church, he became a magazine editor in Minneapolis and later directed the Center for Contemplative Studies at the University of Dallas. Kienzle published his first novel, The Rosary Murders, in 1978, and his last, The Gathering, in 2002. All 24 of his works belong to the Father Koesler series. Below is a list of William X.
