Order of Virginia Lanier Books

Virginia Lanier was an American author renowned for her Jo Beth Sidden “Bloodhound” Mystery series. The series began in 1995 with the publication of Death in Bloodhound Red. At 65 years old when the book was released, Lanier demonstrated that it's never too late to embark on a writing career. She was inspired to write her first book after being frustrated by another novel, which she threw across the room, believing she could do better. Death in Bloodhound Red received the Anthony Award in 1996 for Best First Novel and was also nominated for an Agatha Award. Additionally, she was nominated for the Agatha Award in 1998 for Blind Bloodhound Justice. Lanier was orphaned as a child and later adopted by Ira and Mary Holt Rudd.
