Victoria Hislop is an English author renowned for her works, particularly The Island and The Return. She studied English at Oxford and gained experience in publishing and journalism before focusing on writing. Her debut novel, The Island, was published in 2005 and topped the Sunday Times paperback charts for eight weeks in a row. The book was later adapted by a Greek television network, where it garnered record-high ratings. In 2007, Victoria received the Newcomer of the Year award at the Galaxy British Book Awards.
