Tyler Dilts is an American writer known for his crime thriller novels. He is the creator of the Long Beach Homicide series, which centers around Detective Danny Beckett. Growing up as the son of a police officer, Tyler aspired to follow in his father's career. While his ambitions evolved, his fascination with detective work remained. Currently, Tyler serves as an instructor at California State University and has contributed articles and stories to publications such as The Los Angeles Times, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and The Best American Mystery Stories, among others.
