Tim Tharp is an American writer known for his young adult novels. His most recognized work is The Spectacular Now, which is being turned into a film featuring Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller. Besides writing, Tim teaches Humanities at Rose State College. He holds a BA from the University of Oklahoma and an MFA from Brown University. Tim has also had various jobs, including factory worker, construction laborer, psychiatric aide, hitchhiker, and record store clerk. He published his first novel, Falling Dark, in 1999.
