Order of Tessa Harris Books

Tessa Harris is an English author known for her historical mystery novels, particularly the Dr. Thomas Silkstone series. She studied History at Oxford before pursuing a career in journalism. Tessa began her writing career at her local newspaper in Louth, Lincolnshire, and later worked for a London newspaper, where she became the women's editor. She then wrote features for Best magazine and eventually took on the role of editor there. Following that, Tessa spent two years as deputy editor for the magazine Heritage. After becoming a mother, she transitioned to freelance journalism for various publications. In 2000, she wrote a screenplay for a European screenwriting competition, which she won; the screenplay, set in 18th century London, inspired her creation of the Dr. Thomas Silkstone character. Tessa Harris published her first novel, The Anatomist’s Apprentice, in 2011, introducing the Dr. Thomas Silkstone character.
