Terry Shames is an American mystery novelist known for her Samuel Craddock series. Raised in Texas, she has a deep appreciation for its landscape and culture, which inspired her fictional town of Jarrett Creek. She graduated from the University of Texas and obtained an MA from San Francisco State University. Her works have received several Macavity awards. Terry resides in Berkeley, California, with her husband and dogs. She made her publishing debut in 2013 with the novel A Killing at Cotton Hill.
