Order of Terry McMillan Books

Terry McMillan is a bestselling author renowned for her popular novels, Waiting to Exhale and How Stella Got Her Groove Back, both of which were adapted into successful major motion pictures at the American box office. Her book Disappearing Acts was also transformed into a film by HBO Pictures. McMillan was born and raised in Port Huron, Michigan, where she began working at a local library shelving books, which ignited her passion for literature. She made her literary debut in 1987 with Mama, a critically acclaimed work that earned her the Doubleday New Voices in Fiction award in 1986 and the American Book Award in 1987.
