Tania Carver is the pseudonym for the British husband-and-wife writing duo Martyn and Linda Waites, known for their crime thriller novels. They are the authors of the Brennan & Esposito series. Before teaming up with Linda, Martyn published several novels under his own name. An editor he worked with sought a British equivalent of Karin Slaughter or Tess Gerritsen, and Martyn claimed he could deliver. However, he soon faced challenges and frequently sought Linda's assistance, ultimately bringing her on as a co-author. Tania Carver made her debut in 2009 with the novel The Surrogate, while Martyn Waites had been a published author since 1997.
