Susan Gregg Gilmore is an American author renowned for her works such as Looking for Salvation at the Dairy Queen, The Funeral Dress, and The Improper Life of Bezellia Grove. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, her parents nurtured her passion for storytelling from an early age. During her childhood, Susan frequently visited her grandparents' home outside the city, where they would fish and catch lightning bugs. She later attended the University of Virginia and obtained her Master’s degree from the University of Texas.
