Order of Susan Choi Books

Susan Choi is an American novelist who published her debut novel, The Foreign Student, in 1998. This book received the Asian American Literary Award for Fiction and was a finalist for the Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers Award. Choi has also been a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and the PEN/Faulkner Award, and she won the PEN/W.G. Sebald Award for her work, A Person of Interest. Born in Indiana to a Jewish mother and a Korean father, her parents divorced when she was nine, leading her to move to Houston, Texas, with her mother. She later attended Yale, where she earned a B.A. in Literature, and subsequently obtained an MFA from Cornell University. Choi worked at the New York Times as a fact checker, where she met her husband.
