Order of Siobhan Dowd Books

Siobhan Dowd (1960-2007) was an English writer known for her children's and young adult novels. Born in London to Irish parents, she obtained her B.A. Honours degree in Classics from Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford University, and her M.A. with distinction in Gender and Ethnic Studies from Greenwich University. Siobhan was involved with International PEN, initially as a researcher and later as a program director. To support disadvantaged children in improving their reading skills, she founded the Siobhan Dowd Trust. Diagnosed with breast cancer in September 2004, she continued to write until her passing in August 2007, leaving behind her husband, Geoff. Her debut book was the anthology This Prison Where I Live, released in 1996, and her first novel, A Swift Pure Cry, came out in 2006.
