Sally Rooney is an Irish author renowned for her debut novel, Conversations with Friends. This book earned her the Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year award and several nominations for various awards. Besides her writing, she serves as the editor of the Irish literary journal The Stinging Fly. Rooney was born and raised in Castlebar, where she lived until she attended Trinity College Dublin, where she studied English and earned a degree in American Literature. Remarkably, she completed her first novel while still pursuing that degree.
