S.C. Perkins is a Texas-based author who made her debut in 2017 with her first mystery novel, Murder Once Removed, the inaugural book in the Ancestry Detective series. This novel won the 2017 Malice Domestic Best First Traditional Mystery competition and has led to significant success for her. A fifth-generation Texan, Perkins gained insights into her ancestry while enjoying delicious Tex-Mex cuisine during her upbringing, which greatly influenced the storyline of Murder Once Removed. She currently resides in Houston, where she writes, works a day job, and enjoys spending time at the beach or riding horses.
