Robert M. Edsel is an American non-fiction author known for his writings on artistic treasures and monuments preserved during World War II. His book, The Monuments Men, has been adapted for film by George Clooney, who will write, produce, direct, and star in the project. Prior to his writing career, Edsel was a nationally ranked tennis player and worked in the oil exploration sector. He is also the founder of the Monuments Men Foundation for the Preservation of Art. Edsel spent several years living in Florence, Italy, but currently resides in his hometown of Dallas, Texas. He published his first book, Rescuing Da Vinci: Hitler and the Nazis Stole Europe’s Great Art – America and Her Allies Recovered It, in 2006. Below is a list of Robert M.
