Robert Harris

Robert Harris is an English author known for his historical fiction and non-fiction works. He has also served as a journalist and television reporter for the BBC. In the early years of his career, he focused on writing non-fiction across various topics before transitioning to novel writing. Harris resides near Newbury, Berkshire, England, with his wife, fellow writer Gil Hornby, who is the sister of novelist Nick Hornby. He began his writing journey in 1982 with the non-fiction book A Higher Form of Killing: The Secret Story of Gas and Germ Warfare, co-authored with Jeremy Paxman. The following year, he published his first solo work, Gotcha: The Media, The Government and The Falklands Crisis. His debut novel, Fatherland, an alternative history, was released in 1992.
