Robert Galbraith is the pseudonym used by J.K. Rowling for her crime fiction writing. He is the creator of the Cormoran Strike series. Although her debut novel under this name, The Cuckoo’s Calling, received positive reviews, noting it did not appear to be the work of a new author or someone with a military background (as claimed in Galbraith's biography), it only sold 1,500 copies. The connection between Galbraith and Rowling was uncovered when Sunday Times editor Richard Brooks noticed similarities in their writing and that they shared an editor. Rowling had intended to keep this secret for a while longer. Robert Galbraith published his first novel, The Cuckoo’s Calling, in 2013, marking the start of the Cormoran Strike series. J.K. Rowling has mentioned that the number of Galbraith novels will eventually surpass the number of Harry Potter books.
