Richard Osman is an English comedian, television presenter, producer, and author, best known as the creator and co-presenter of the BBC One quiz show Pointless. He ventured into fiction in 2020 with the release of his debut novel, The Thursday Murder Club. Born in Billericay, Essex, he grew up in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, and later attended Trinity College, Cambridge, where he studied Politics and Sociology. Osman worked as an executive producer on British game shows like Deal or No Deal before pitching his idea for Pointless, which the BBC accepted. His first novel was acquired by Viking Press in a seven-figure deal following a 10-publisher auction in 2019.
