Order of Richard Adams Books

Richard Adams (1920-2016) was an English writer known for his fantasy and literary fiction, as well as non-fiction works. He was born in Berkshire and attended Bradfield College before studying Modern History at Worcester College, Oxford. When World War II began, he joined the British Army, serving until 1946. After receiving a class B discharge, he returned to Worcester to complete his education, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1948 and a Master of Arts in 1953. Richard began narrating the story of Watership Down to his daughters, Juliet and Rosamund, who encouraged him to publish it. After two years of writing and facing rejection from thirteen publishers, the book was finally published and achieved remarkable success.
