Order of Rebecca Makkai Books

Rebecca Makkai is an American author and short story writer residing in Chicago, IL. She published her debut novel, The Borrower, in 2011, which quickly gained recognition as it was named a Top Ten Debut by Booklist and featured in O Magazine. Besides her novels, Rebecca has taught at Northwestern University, Lake Forest College, and Sierra Nevada College, and she serves as the Artistic Director of StoryStudio Chicago. Growing up in Lake Bluff, Illinois, as the daughter of two linguistics professors, she developed a passion for words from an early age. Interestingly, she is not the first writer in her family; her paternal grandmother, Ignacz Rozsa, was a novelist in Hungary.
