Order of Raven Leilani Books

Raven Leilani is an American author who made her debut in 2020 with the novel Luster. This book received recognition as a Best Book of the Year from various publications, including NPR, O Magazine, Vanity Fair, Los Angeles Times, Glamour, The New York Times Book Review, Buzzfeed, and Time. Leilani is a pen name; her full name is Raven Leilani Baptiste. She was raised in New York, initially in the Bronx and later in Albany, in a family of artists. She earned a degree in English and psychology in 2012. Before becoming an author, she held several jobs, including working for the US Department of Defense and as a delivery person for Postmates in Washington, D.C. Raven's background as a visual artist, along with her life experiences, poetry, and passion for comic books and music, influences her writing.
