Order of R.D. Wingfield Books

Rodney David Wingfield (1928-2007) was an English author and playwright, renowned for his Detective Inspector Jack Frost crime fiction series. Born in Hackney, Greater London, R.D. Wingfield attended Coopers’ Company School. During World War II, he was evacuated to Frome, Somerset. He worked in the East End of London before joining Petrofina. After writing three radio plays for the BBC, he left his job to pursue a career as a full-time writer. Wingfield published his first novel, Frost at Christmas, in 1984, and went on to write a total of six novels featuring Inspector Jack Frost. His last novel, A Killing Frost, was published in 2008, the year following his death from cancer. Below is a list of R.D. Wingfield’s books in the order of their original publication.
