Peter May is a Scottish author known for his crime fiction, mystery, and thriller novels, as well as his work in television and his background as a journalist. Raised in Glasgow, Peter aspired to be a novelist from a young age. To support himself before realizing that dream, he worked as a journalist, earning Scotland’s Young Journalist of the Year Award at 21 and contributing to The Scotsman and the Glasgow Evening Times. He transitioned from journalism in 1978 to focus on television, creating several shows for the BBC and Scottish television. As a novelist, he is recognized for the China Thrillers and Enzo Files series. His debut novel, The Reporter, was adapted for television by the BBC as The Standard.
