He graduated from Strathclyde University, then moved to London, where he worked as a rock musician, session singer, and songwriter, achieving a hit record in Japan. He still enjoys performing occasionally. His travels have taken him to places like the Amazon, Africa, India, and Nepal. Owen and his wife, Christine, divide their time between Glasgow and the Greek Islands. He made his debut as a published author in 2016 with the novel Games People Play.
