Order of Olivia Manning Books

Olivia Manning (1911-1980) was an Anglo-Irish writer known for her novels that often explored personal journeys set in England, Ireland, and the Middle East, drawing from her own life experiences. After spending her childhood in England and Ireland, she married R.D. Smith, a British Council lecturer, and lived in Romania, Greece, Egypt, and Palestine before returning to England. Manning did not achieve significant recognition until her Balkan and Levant trilogies were adapted into the "Fortunes of War" television series in 1987, seven years after her passing. She made her literary debut in 1937 with the novel The Wind Changes, and her last published work, Remarkable Expedition, was released posthumously in 1985.
