Order of Nevada Barr Books

Nevada Barr is an American author renowned for her Anna Pigeon mystery series. Although she was born in Nevada, her name was inspired by a book favored by her father, not her home state. Barr developed her Anna Pigeon character while employed at Guadalupe Mountains National Park in Texas. While most of her work focuses on the Anna Pigeon series, she began her writing career in 1984 with Bittersweet, a historical novel about lesbians set in the Western frontier. It wasn't until 1993, with Track of the Cat, that she launched the Anna Pigeon series. Additionally, she has penned a psychological thriller titled 13 1/2 and a memoir.
