Order of Nancy Johnson Books

Nancy Johnson is an American author who debuted with The Kindest Lie, a book that was selected as a New York Times Editors’ Choice and received recommendations from various publications, including O Magazine, Elle, Refinery 29, and the New York Post. The story follows a Black engineer named Ruth who returns to her hometown in search of the child she gave up as a teenager. Johnson is a graduate of Northwestern University and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A Chicago native, she has worked as a television journalist for CBS and ABC affiliates across the country, earning Emmy nominations and awards for her work. In addition to her writing, she oversees brand communications for a major health care nonprofit in her hometown of Chicago.
