Misa Sugiura is an American author who made her debut with the novel, It’s Not Like It’s A Secret. Her works fall within the contemporary young adult fiction genre. Originally from the suburbs of Chicago, Sugiura now resides in Silicon Valley, California, with her husband, two children, and their pets. She takes pride in her heritage, which includes a poet, a priestess, a samurai, and a stowaway. Her first book, It’s Not Like It’s a Secret, received the Asian/Pacific American Award for YA Literature.
