Meg Cabot is an American author known for her works in romance, paranormal romance, mystery, and chick lit for adults, young adults, and children. She has also written under the pseudonyms Patricia Cabot for romance novels and Jenny Carroll for young adult novels. Meg is most recognized for her Princess Diaries series, but she has created several other series, including The Mediator, 1-800-WHERE-R-U, Allie Finkle’s Rules for Girls, and the Heather Wells Mysteries. Her book The Princess Diaries was turned into a film by Walt Disney Pictures in 2001, featuring Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews. Meg Cabot began her writing career with romance novels as Patricia Cabot, starting with Where the Roses Grow Wild in 1998. She retired this pseudonym in 2002 after Kiss the Bride. Her first novel published under her real name was The Princess Diaries in 2000, which has become her most famous work and a New York Times bestseller.
