Order of Maurice Leblanc Books

Maurice Leblanc was a French writer known for his novels and short stories, particularly for creating the character Arsène Lupin, a fictional gentleman thief and detective. Many consider Lupin to be the French equivalent of Sherlock Holmes. Born in 1864, Leblanc died in 1941 in Perpignan. He wrote his first Arsène Lupin story in 1905, which was published in serialized form in the magazine Je sais tout. Following this success, he dedicated his career to writing full-length novels featuring Lupin. Although he attempted to create other characters, he consistently returned to Lupin. For his contributions to literature, Leblanc received the Légion d’Honneur, France's highest order of merit. The character inspired the 2021 Netflix series Lupin, as well as the manga Lupin III, which is based on his fictional grandson. The anime film The Castle of Cagliostro was loosely adapted from one of his books.
