Matt Ruff

Matt Ruff is an American author known for his fiction. He gained recognition for his novel Bad Monkeys, which received multiple awards and was adapted for film, as well as Lovecraft Country, an HBO series produced by the acclaimed Jordan Peele. From a young age, Matt aspired to be a writer and dedicated much of his youth to mastering storytelling. He attended Cornell University, where he wrote his first novel, Fool on the Hill, as his thesis for Honors English. His professor was so impressed that she assisted him in finding a publisher, enabling him to pursue writing as a career. His significant breakthrough came with Set This House in Order, which earned him the James Tiptree, Jr. Award, a Washington State Book Award, and a Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association Award.
