Martin Walker is a British writer known for his mystery novels and non-fiction works. He is the author of the Bruno, Chief of Police series. Walker has held the position of Editor-in-Chief Emeritus at United Press International and has worked in various roles at The Guardian, served as a commentator for CNN, and written columns for newspapers in both the U.S. and Europe. He is married to fellow author Julia Watson and has two daughters. Walker's writing career began with the non-fiction book The Waking Giant: Soviet Union Under Gorbachev, published in 1986. His debut novel was the standalone work The Caves of Perigord, released in 2002. Six years later, he launched his first series with Bruno, Chief of Police.
