Order of Mario Puzo Books

Mario Puzo (1920-1999) was an American author and screenwriter known for his crime fiction, particularly his Mafia-themed novels, with The Godfather being his most famous work. He drew much of his inspiration from his upbringing as the son of Italian immigrants in Hell’s Kitchen. Puzo aimed to write a commercially successful novel with The Godfather, having received positive reviews for his earlier works that did not achieve financial success. He later adapted the novel into the iconic film with Francis Ford Coppola. Puzo passed away from heart failure at his home in 1999. He published his first novel, The Dark Arena, in 1955.
