Margaret Leroy is an English author known for her historical fiction novels. She was raised in New Forest, England, and as a child, she wrote fantasy stories that she kept private. In her 20s, she held various jobs, but it was only after she began working as a social worker that she found her path. She earned her qualification at Leicester University and worked in psychiatry and later in child protection. After meeting her future husband, Mick, she chose to return to writing. Margaret Leroy made her authorial debut in 1990 with the non-fiction book Miscarriage, and her first novel, Trust, was published in 1999.
