Lisa Klein is an American author known for her YA historical fiction novels. She grew up in Peoria, Illinois, and earned her doctorate in English from Indiana University. After becoming an assistant professor at Ohio State University, she left when she was denied tenure. Lisa chose to stay home to raise her two sons while exploring her writing skills. She found a passion for history and storytelling and connected with several authors who wrote for younger audiences, realizing that if they could succeed, so could she. Lisa reads nearly a hundred books each year, including fiction and non-fiction in both English and German. In addition to writing, she enjoys gardening, cooking, traveling, and shopping at thrift stores. She resides in Columbus, Ohio, with her husband and has two adult sons.
