Order of Lea Wait Books

Lea Wait (1946-2019) was an American author known for her historical fiction and mystery novels aimed at both adults and children. She created the Antique Print Mysteries and the Mainely Needlepoint Mysteries series. Growing up, Lea was immersed in historical fiction and often attended antique auctions with her grandmother, which fostered her connection to the past. While living on the Maine coast, she aspired to be a marine biologist before shifting her focus to politics and wanting to become a politician. However, her enduring passion was always writing. She studied drama and English at Chatham College in Pittsburgh and pursued graduate studies in American Civilization at New York University. In 1998, Lea left the corporate world to operate an antique print business and write full-time in Maine. She made her publishing debut in 2001 with the children's historical novel Stopping to Home.
