While her Fallen series takes place in a boarding school, it is not inspired by her own high school experience. However, the high school featured in The Betrayal of Natalie Hargrove is based on Plano Senior High School, which she attended. Lauren is recognized as a USA Today and New York Times bestselling author. She published her first book, The Betrayal of Natalie Hargrove, in November 2009, followed by the release of Fallen the next month, marking the beginning of her Fallen series.
