Laura Madeleine is an English novelist specializing in historical fiction. Although she initially pursued acting and had a significant presence in theater and film, including roles in “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” and “The Phantom of the Opera,” Laura shifted her focus to academia, studying English at Newnham College, Cambridge. She is recognized for her novels such as The Confectioner’s Tale, Where the Wild Cherries Grow, The Secrets Between Us, and An Echo of Scandal, which have been published globally. Additionally, she writes romance under the pseudonym Lili Hayward, with titles like The Cat of Yule Cottage. Her short stories have been featured in various publications. Laura lives in Bristol in a bright blue house with her partner and often visits her family in Devon. An enthusiastic gardener, she enjoys tending to her allotment in her free time. Laura made her debut as a novelist in 2015 with The Confectioner’s Tale, coincidentally on the same day her sister Lucy Hounsom published her debut novel.
