Kent Haruf

Kent Haruf (1943-2014) was an American writer known for his literary fiction. Born in Colorado, he received his Bachelor of Arts in literature from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1965 and later earned his Master of Fine Arts from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop at the University of Iowa in 1973. He spent two years in Turkey teaching English through the Peace Corps and has held various jobs, including working on a chicken farm, at a construction site, in a rehab center, a hospital, a library, an alternative high school, and at universities. Haruf published his first novel, The Tie That Binds, in 1984, and his last work, Our Souls at Night, came out in 2015. Below is a list of his books in the order of their original publication.
