Keigo Higashino is a renowned Japanese author of mystery novels, highly regarded in his home country, comparable to authors like James Patterson, Dean Koontz, and Tom Clancy. He began his writing career while employed as an engineer at Nippon Denso Co. At the age of 27, he received the Edogawa Rampo Prize for best mystery for his novel "Hokago." Additionally, he has been honored with the Mystery Writers of Japan Inc. award for his novel "Himitsu" (titled "Naoko" in English). His book "The Devotion of Suspect X" achieved remarkable success, selling 800,000 copies in Japan in its release year, making it the second highest-selling book (across both fiction and non-fiction) in Japan that year. It also won the Naoki Prize for Best Novel and was adapted into a film. Keigo Higashino made his English-language debut as a published novelist with "Naoko" in 2004.
