Kate Sedley is the pseudonym of Brenda Margaret Lilian Honey Clarke, an author of historical fiction and mystery novels. Hailing from Bristol, England, Kate attended The Red Maids’ School in Westbury-on-Trym. She is known for her thorough research and captivating writing style. Kate is married and has a son and daughter. She published her first book, The Kingmaker (under the name Brenda Honeyman), in 1969. In 1978, she began writing as Brenda Clarke with Glass Island. She adopted the name Kate Sedley in 1991 with the introduction of her character Roger the Chapman in the novel Death and the Chapman.
