Kate Racculia

Kate Racculia is an American author renowned for her novels, including This Must Be the Place and Bellweather Rhapsody, the latter of which received the Alex Award from the American Library Association. She later published Tuesday Mooney Talks to Ghosts. Raised in Syracuse, New York, Kate played the bassoon during her youth. She attended the University of Buffalo, where she studied illustration, design, Jane Austen, and Canadian culture. After graduating, she pursued her MFA at Emerson College in Boston, where she lived for a while and held various jobs, such as a cartoonist, planetarium operator, movie and music reviewer, barista, bookseller, designer, finance marketing proposal writer, and fundraising prospect researcher. In addition to her novel writing, Kate teaches online courses for Grub Street and works at her local public library.
