Kate Elizabeth Russell is an American author who debuted in 2020 with her novel My Dark Vanessa. The book appeared on numerous “most anticipated” lists, quickly became a New York Times bestseller, and was translated into several languages. Originally from eastern Maine, Kate moved away to attend Indiana University, where she earned her MFA. She then continued her education at the University of Kansas, obtaining her PhD. Russell maintains a personal website featuring a “process blog” where she discusses writing and various other topics.
