Julian Stockwin is an English author known for his nautical action-adventure historical fiction novels, particularly the Kydd Sea Adventures series. He enlisted in the Royal Navy at the age of 15. After his family relocated to Australia, he was transferred to the Royal Australian Navy, where he served for eight years. Following his studies at the University of Tasmania, he joined the Royal Navy Reserve, earning the honor of MBE and retiring as a Lieutenant Commander. Stockwin returned to the UK in 1990 and began his writing career six years later, debuting as a published novelist with the book Kydd.
