Order of Julia Quinn Books

Julia Quinn is the pseudonym of American author Julie Pottinger, known for her historical romance novels. She is the author of the Bridgerton series and the Smythe-Smith Quartet series. Julia selected her pen name to ensure her books would be shelved alongside Amanda Quick's. As a child, she read Sweet Dreams and Sweet Valley High books, telling her father she was studying them to learn how to write. Young Julia even penned a few chapters and submitted them to Sweet Dreams publishers, but faced rejection. She attended Harvard, earning a degree in Art History. Although she initially intended to pursue medical school, two of her novels were sold at auction, prompting her to postpone her education to write more. When she eventually entered med school, she quickly chose to abandon it for a full-time writing career. In 2001, she participated in the TV game show The Weakest Link, winning $79,000. Julia resides in the Pacific Northwest with her husband, Paul Pottinger. She published her first novels, Splendid and its sequel, Dancing at Midnight, in 1995.
