Jon Berkeley

Jon Berkeley is an Irish author and illustrator of children's novels. He was born and raised in Dublin and studied at the National College of Art and Design. He has traveled widely, doing freelance work in London, Sydney, and Hong Kong before returning to Dublin and later moving to Barcelona. His illustrations have been featured in publications such as Time, the Sunday Independent, Backbone, The Washington Post, and The Economist. He resides in Spain with his wife, five children, five cats, and a small colony of stick insects. Jon Berkeley spent twenty years as an illustrator before becoming a writer. His first book, a picture book titled Chopsticks, was published in 2005, followed by his debut novel, The Palace of Laughter, the next year.
