Order of Jill Churchill Books

Jill Churchill is the pseudonym of Janice Young Brooks, an American author known for her cozy mystery and historical romance novels. She is the creator of the Jane Jeffry and Grace & Favor series. Churchill pursued her education degree at the University of Kansas and later attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City before spending many years as a teacher. Additionally, she worked as a book reviewer for the Kansas City Star. Jill has received both the Agatha and Macavity awards. A mother of two and a grandmother, she enjoys gardening, needlepoint, and playing gin. Jill Churchill published her first novel, Ozark Legacy, in 1975 under the name Amanda Singer. She subsequently wrote under her real name, Janice Young Brooks, and the pen name Valerie Vayle (in collaboration with Jean Brooks-Janowiak). In 1989, she debuted as Jill Churchill in the cozy mystery genre with Grime and Punishment, launching her Jane Jeffry series.
