Jennifer De Leon

Jennifer De Leon is an American author known for her young adult novels. Born in the Boston area to immigrant parents from Guatemala, she graduated from Connecticut College with a degree in International Relations, during which she spent two semesters abroad. She also holds an MA in Teaching from the University of San Francisco and an MFA in Creative Writing from UMASS-Boston. Her stories and essays have appeared in more than a dozen literary magazines and anthologies. After a decade of teaching in public schools, she is currently an Assistant Professor of English at Framingham State University. Jennifer resides in the Boston area. She made her debut as a novelist in 2020 with the young adult novel Don’t Ask Me Where I’m From, having previously published a children’s book and a collection of essays.
