Janie Chang is an author of historical and literary fiction, inspired by her family history. Her childhood was filled with stories of ancestors who had extraordinary encounters with dragons, ghosts, and immortals, providing insight into life in a small Chinese town before World War II. These captivating tales have fueled her creativity. Janie developed her writing skills at The Writers Studio at Simon Fraser University, where she gained essential knowledge and experience. Born in Taiwan, she has lived in several countries, including the Philippines, Iran, Thailand, and New Zealand. Currently, she resides in Vancouver, British Columbia, which serves as her base for writing her imaginative and culturally rich novels. Janie made her debut as a novelist in 2013 with Three Souls.
