Isabel Wilkerson

Isabel Wilkerson is an American journalist and author known for her works, including "The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America’s Great Migration" and "Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents," which was selected for Oprah’s Book Club. "The Warmth of Other Suns" received several accolades, including the National Book Critics Circle Award for Nonfiction, the Heartland Prize for Nonfiction, and the Anisfield-Wolf Award for Nonfiction. In addition to her books, Wilkerson was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 1994 for her role as the Chicago Bureau Chief for The New York Times, making her the first black woman journalist to receive a Pulitzer and the first African American to win for individual reporting.
